When the Moon Cries Part 1

Alice sat by the window staring out into the night. The bright moonlight lit her room. She was mesmerized by the beauty in the dark sky wondering how the moon is able to stand out among the darkness it surrounds. She raised her hand up trying to grab on to the moon. Hoping that she will be able to steal it from the sky. She has caught the moon, she thought for a second there. As she opened up her palm, she noticed the moon's color has changed a little turning a slight hint of red.

She heard an odd noise outside of her window. It sounded like a persistent buzz similar to that of a bee. She turned her attention away from the moon and looked out into the flower garden. A few floating lights is seen moving around in the garden.

"Must have been some fireflies," she said to herself and she lay down on her bed trying to get some sleep.

As her eyes closed, the buzzing noise became more obvious. What could have made the sound this strong, she wondered and got out of her bed. She turned and looked at the garden, the few fireflies have now became a swarm. The fireflies seems to move in a formation, something she has never seen before. Thousands of lights swarming the flower garden and all gathered before a stone statue of a woman. The statue stood towering over the fireflies as they circle it.

Alice quickly got out and ran to the garden where the fireflies are. She was curious as to what the fireflies were doing to the statue. She tiptoed closer to the fireflies before the swarm flew towards her and surround her. She screamed in horror and what happens next is a blur as her consciousness fades away.

When she woke up, she saw unfamiliar faces surrounding her. She immediately got up and looked around. She's surrounded by thousands of people. Though she felt that they were strange. Everyone seems to be wearing odd clothing. Their clothes made of leaves sewn together and everyone have a pair of transparent wings. The crowd looks at her curiously wondering what is she.

"Can she understand us?" one of the people was heard asking.

"I don't know but she looks really weird to me," another replied.

Alice was still in shock at what she has witnessed. The looks on everyone's face as they stared at the new curiosity sitting on the ground.

"Where am I?" Alice asked but no one replied. She followed up her question with "Who are you people?"

A woman stepped forward. Her skin as fair as snow. She held a wooden staff made of twisted twines. Her hair, gold in color reached her waist. As she walked through the crowd, every other person moved aside and lowered their heads making a path for her to walk through.

"We are faeries of the land, human." the woman said.

"Faeries? I don't understand," Alice replied.

"You're a special one, human. What is your name?" the woman asked.

"I'm Alice. And you are?"

"Neylar. Queen of the Faeries. You're able to see us tonight which means you are pure of heart." Queen Neylar said. "Come. We must make haste before the moon changes. The ceremony cannot be delayed further."

Queen Neylar walked away from Alice and begin to fly towards the stone statue. Alice noticed that the stone statue which was usually about 6 feet tall now stands towering over her like a gargantuan monument of sort, She have never seen the statue this big before. Has the statue grew in size? It took her awhile before she realized, that it wasn't the statue that grew in size but she has shrunk.
